If you are looking for a nice relaxing view of the Lynnhaven River with a parade of boats to watch as you sip your Zinfandel, Dockside is the place. Great local seafood and drinks. Enjoy the deck or eat inside, the view is spectacular. Better during sunsets!
Super friendly service and delicious food! The salmon done blackened was so fresh, fried haddock, oyster sandwiches also so good! Would go back again and we do every year we are in town!

If you like fresh, expertly-prepared seafood, eat here. This is a quintessential down-home, waterside seafood restaurant! Friendly, experienced waitstaff serve up food from a clearly experienced and talented kitchen staff. Best seafood lunch (or dinner) I’ve had in a long time. Our table ordered fresh halibut (huge serving), fried oysters, and a pound of steamed gulf shrimp. Excellent.
First-time visitors to Dockside in Virginia Beach, and we LOVED it. We started with the best She Crab Soup for me and French Onion Soup for hubby, which was wonderfully cheesy. The Fried Platter was huge with fried deliciousness and had a large piece of Flounder, the biggest Shrimp I have ever seen - four of them and a very tasty Crab Cake, along with perfectly salted French Fries, tangy Coleslaw and crunchy Hushpuppies. We just got Sprite to drink and didn't order from the cocktail menu. Our waitress, Charlotte, was so friendly, energetic, and attentive. She kept checking to make sure we didn't need anything. There was so much food that we had to bring some home or lunch today. Great food, great service, great value for as much as you get, and great atmosphere right on the water. Hubby and I definitely WILL be back.
Must visit restaurant while at Virginia Beach! Rock Fish was literally 20oz, fresh catch. Batter was just enough. Snow crabs were fresh, plump, and juicy. We sat at the dock around sunset, wonderful view and ambiance. Our waitress was very pleasant and service was fast. Will visit again!
Everything was great!! Food was fresh and great and came out quick. Service was great.. Outside area is a vibe.. Drinks from the bar were good as well!! Had the Calamari, Raw and Rockefeller oysters, she crab, and steamed shrimp.. Kids had a hamburger and chicken tenders and those were good as well!
This place was knock your socks off. I went based on a friend's recommendation (she lives in the area). The stuffed jumbo shrimp with crabmeat was off the charts good. My dining partner loved the fried shrimp. Both dishes gave new meaning to the word "jumbo". Cocktails were excellent; great Bloody Mary. Go here. Added bonus is the phenomenal fresh seafood market downstairs. They had some huge frozen lobster tails, which you don't see very often. Also various fresh fish and shellfish.
